Kauai Trip

Yay for vacations!!! We spent 5 wonderful days on Kauai with Jonathon and Julie again, and we are pretty committed to the fact that we are going to retire there. It is so beautiful and peaceful! This is the middle of the grande hotel we stayed at the first day there...

The hotel courtyard

The first waterfall we hiked to in Wailua

The top of the second Wailua Falls

The side view of the second falls

The bottom view of the second falls

Still the second waterfall

What we had to climb down (and back up) to get to the bottom of the falls

My husband has this nerve-racking habit of cliff jumping, at least this one was half the jump the one he did on our engagement trip to Jamaica. This is back at the first falls.

The jump

The water landing

The climb back up, only to repeat the jump a few more times

This is the awesome cave across from our campsite at Ha'ena State Park on the North Sore

Our campsite on the beach

The beach...the crescent shape to the top right is a snorkeling place called 'The Tunnels' that is a huge area of open (but not active) lava tubes that has some of the most beautiful fish, coral, and seascape we have seen thus far

Queen's Bath...one of several small ocean inlets on the island where the old monarchy use to bathe...absolutely beautiful, crystal clear and warm ocean water

Another bath area...and of course, we swam in them

The Shubs (Julie found out she was pregnant the day of our trip!!!!)

The very first bath on the hike. The hike was quite awesome, hiking along the coastline on old lava flows to get to each of the bath sites.

This is Waimea Canyon, known at the "Grand Canyon of the Pacific".

More of the canyon

Hi Lea & Adam
I can understand why you may someday retire on this island. It is breathtaking even from just the photos! So happy you're making the most of your time while there...and while you're young & healthy!!!
Miss you 2!
